Information
Saint Clare Parish is offering a 5-Part study on The Mass. On Holy Thursday, our Lord Jesus Christ instituted the first Mass. We now joyously celebrate His Resurrection for the 50 days leading to the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. What better time to learn more about Him as He presents Himself in Word and Sacrament at each Mass.
We shall meet on five successive Friday evenings (April 17, 24, and May 1, 8, 15, 2015). Class begins at 7:00pm and concludes no later than 9:00pm.
A Biblical Walk Through the Massprovides a unique tour of the timeless Liturgy as it explores the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass and explains their profound significance.
In this study, you will come to know and understand the Mass like never before. You will see, perhaps for the first time, why we say what we say, and do what we do every week at Mass. The words and gestures will be seen in a new light, leading you to a richer, more fruitful worship experience.
You will:
- Learn the biblical background to the words, prayers, and gestures of the Liturgy, all in the context of the revised Mass translation.
- Discover how the Mass is a “true re-presentation” of Christ’s redeeming sacrifice on the Cross.
- Explore the three key aspects of the Mass as Sacrifice, Real Presence and Holy Communion
